PACA in Muscat, Oman uses GDS and Moment Tensor Modules

PACA in Muscat, Oman has been using our GDS for dissemination of earthquake information and scautomt for automatic inversion for earthquake moment tensors. We have now trained SeisComP3 administrators and operators on their usage.
The training will enable the administrators to customize earthquake information found at PACA and to provide them to stakeholders and the public in Oman through many different media. The SeisComP3 operators have learned to study earthquake source mechanisms using scmtv, the interactive sister module of scautomt. In the future, manually analysed moment tensors can be provided to {{ product “toast” >}} for tsunami modeling and observation enhancing the forecast abilities at PACA.
